"These fragments I have shored against my ruins."

学期半ばの学生からのコメント

It's always quite a bit fearful an experience to read students' Week 5 mid-term reflection on my class. But this time one student gave me a very flattering comment, which saved me from melancholy. I hope he really felt so, not to please me and get a good grade: "Our teacher, Mr. Oda, is undoubtedly a man of writing. His English grammar is not the best, but his ideas and analysis are top-notch, and really that’s all you need in writing (after all, analysis is the backbone of an essay, not necessarily the grammar, and I’m sure in Japanese he could be a best-selling novelist)."
