I missed the train to LA due to several delays that occurred in the route from NY to Chicago. Now I'm in a long line to talk with a passenger services person. The problem is that the substitute ticket automatically sent to me--surprisingly, Amtrak just sent it to my email address when we arrived at Chicago--is supposed to arrive at Union Station, LA, at 8:15 AM on Dec. 20th, but I have to be at LAX by 11 AM on that day! Theoretically this is possible. But after experiencing these delays, I can't trust Amtrak anymore and I don't want to take risks.
